Turntable Medic LLC ("Turntable Medic," "we," "us," or "our") operates the websites turntablemedic.com and myturntablemedic.com (including the customer portal at portal.myturntablemedic.com) and the Turntable Medic RPM & Toolkit mobile app. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our websites, customer portal, mobile app, and repair services.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly to us, including:

Contact information: name, email address, phone number, and mailing address
Equipment information: device descriptions, repair history, and service requests
Payment information: processed securely through Stripe — we do not store credit card numbers on our servers
Communications: messages, repair notes, and correspondence related to your service

1a. The Turntable Medic RPM & Toolkit App

The app's measurement tools (speed, strobe, level, wobble, rumble, hum, arm height and alignment) work on your phone. Motion sensor readings and microphone audio are processed on your device and are not sent to us.

Camera. The arm height (VTA) tool uses your phone's camera to find the tonearm and the record. Camera frames and photos are processed on your device and are not sent to us or anyone else. Photos taken for arm height are not saved to your phone's gallery.

The app sends information to us only when you choose to:

Repair requests: your name, email address, phone number, mailing address (for ship-in repairs), turntable details, notes, your preferred contact method, whether you consent to SMS updates, the speed test result you chose to attach, and the app version.
Messages you send to us in the app.
Sign-in: your repair or request number and either your email address or the last four digits of your phone number, used only to match you to your existing customer record.

While you have an open repair or are signed in, the app checks our servers periodically for replies so it can notify you. The app contains no advertising, no analytics and no third-party tracking, and does not collect your location. Your sign-in is stored in your phone's secure storage. You can remove it, along with the repairs and messages saved on your phone, at any time from About > Remove this phone, or by uninstalling the app.

My turntables (Pro): the turntables you set up, their settings, setup changes and saved speed tests are stored only on your phone. They leave your phone only if you export them yourself as a PDF or CSV file.

Tips and Pro. The app is free. You can choose to leave an optional tip or buy a one-time Pro unlock. These purchases are handled entirely by Google Play or the Apple App Store; the app and Turntable Medic never see your card or payment details. The store gives us a standard transaction record (such as an order number, the product, the price and the country) for our accounting. The store's own privacy policy covers how it handles your payment. Whether you own Pro, and how many tips you have given, are stored on your phone.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

Process and manage your repair requests
Communicate with you about the status of your repair via email or SMS (with your consent)
Process payments for services rendered
Send shipping notifications and tracking information
Respond to your questions and provide customer support
Maintain records of services performed on your equipment

3. SMS/Text Messaging

If you opt in to receive SMS messages from Turntable Medic, we will send you text messages related to the status of your repair, appointment reminders, and service updates. By opting in, you consent to receive these messages at the phone number you provided.

Message frequency may vary depending on the status of your repair.

Consent to receive SMS messages is not a condition of purchasing our services.

Your mobile information will not be sold or shared with third parties for promotional or marketing purposes. We may share your personal data, including your SMS opt-in or consent status, with third parties that help us provide our messaging services, including but not limited to platform providers, phone companies, and any other vendors who assist us in the delivery of text messages.

4. Information Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes. We may share your information only in the following circumstances:

Service providers: We use third-party services (such as Stripe for payment processing, Telnyx for SMS delivery, and Resend for email delivery) that require access to certain information to perform their functions. These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data.
Shipping carriers: We share your shipping address with carriers (such as USPS, UPS, or FedEx) to return your repaired equipment.
Legal requirements: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to a valid legal process.

Purchases in the RPM & Toolkit app are processed by Google Play or the Apple App Store, which act under their own privacy policies.

We will not share your opt-in to an SMS campaign with any third party for purposes unrelated to providing you with the services of that campaign.

5. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, alteration, or destruction. Payment transactions are processed through Stripe's secure, PCI-compliant infrastructure. Customer data is stored on our privately hosted servers and is not accessible to the public internet except through authenticated portals protected by industry-standard encryption.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to provide our services, maintain our business records, and comply with legal obligations. Repair records and service history are maintained indefinitely to support future service on your equipment. Repair, invoice and communication records are kept as business records. On request, we will correct your information, stop contacting you, and remove app access for your devices.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Request access to the personal information we hold about you
Request correction of inaccurate information
Request that we stop contacting you or remove app access for your devices
Opt out of SMS communications at any time by replying STOP
Withdraw consent for specific uses of your data

8. Children's Privacy

Our services are not directed to individuals under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Your continued use of our services after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
